A GAA Landscape

The GAA pitch is considered as a particular type of cultural landscape in this cursory photographic investigation. These pitches, produced by the structures of a rule based organisation, are repeated throughout the country, while each local incidence responds differently to the particularities of their site. The study aimed at examining these pitches’
sameness and difference, and to situate them within a cultural landscape context. Initially presented in UCD as part of the ‘Into Landscape’ series in 2010, investigation is ongoing.
